**Madhya Pradesh on Alert for Heavy Rain as Monsoon Nears Departure**
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh remains on alert for heavy rainfall over the next three days before the monsoon finally bids farewell. While the Indore-Jabalpur division is expected to witness significant rain, Bhopal may experience light drizzle during this period.
Heavy rain is forecast for several districts on Saturday, including Dhar, Barwani, Khargone, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Betul, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni, and Balaghat. Meanwhile, Tikamgarh has already seen a change in weather since Saturday morning, with rain commencing under dense cloud cover.
The water level of the Tawa Dam is also rising rapidly. Heavy rainfall in the dam’s catchment area—especially in Pachmarhi and other upstream regions—has caused a steady inflow of water into the reservoir.
**Monsoon Withdraws from 11 Districts**
The monsoon has completely withdrawn from 11 districts of Madhya Pradesh. These districts include Gwalior, Sheopur, Morena, Bhind, Datia, Shivpuri, Guna, Agar-Malwa, Neemuch, Mandsaur, and Ratlam. Additionally, parts of Ujjain, Rajgarh, and Ashoknagar have also seen the monsoon depart.
The retreat of the monsoon will continue across more districts in the coming days.
**Ongoing Rain Across the State**
Despite the monsoon withdrawal in several areas, rainfall persists in many parts of the state. On Friday, districts such as Chhindwara, Damoh, Jabalpur, Mandla, Narsinghpur, Rewa, Satna, Seoni, Sidhi, Umaria, Balaghat, and Pachmarhi in Narmadapuram reported rainfall. Notably, Pachmarhi received more than half an inch of rain.
**What Is Causing the Current Rainfall?**
A trough passing through the southern part of Madhya Pradesh is responsible for the light rain observed in the lower districts, including Jabalpur. According to the Meteorological Department, the activity of this trough and an associated low-pressure area is expected to intensify over the next 24 hours, leading to further spells of rain.
Residents are advised to stay updated with weather forecasts and take necessary precautions as the monsoon season gradually winds down.
