**Rajasthan Agriculture Minister Seizes 64,000 Bags of Spurious Fertilizer in Bikaner Raid**
Jaipur: Dr. Kirodi Lal Meena, the Agriculture Minister of Rajasthan, conducted a late-night raid on fertilizer factories in Kolayat, Bikaner, and seized 64,000 bags of spurious fertilizer. These adulterated fertilizers were reportedly destined for distribution across various states, including Rajasthan and even Nepal.
For the past few months, Meena has been actively carrying out surprise inspections of fertilizer and seed companies within the state. Acting on complaints, he, along with officials, reached Khari Gangapura village on Sunday night to inspect two local fertilizer factories.
“We had received complaints regarding these factories and confiscated 64,000 bags of fertilizer adulterated with soil,” said Meena. “These bags were to be supplied to several districts of Rajasthan, other states, and Nepal as well.”
In addition to Bikaner, Meena has previously conducted raids on fertilizer and seed companies in Ganganagar and Alwar. He is now planning a special drive aimed at cracking down on companies producing spurious seeds and fertilizers.
“I have spoken with the additional chief secretary of the home department to consolidate and hand over all FIRs filed across the state against seed and fertilizer companies over the last few months to the Special Operations Group (SOG) or a Special Investigation Team (SIT),” Meena added. “I will personally discuss further action with the Chief Minister.”
The Agriculture Minister’s proactive measures reflect the state government’s commitment to ensuring the quality of agricultural inputs and protecting farmers from fraudulent practices.
