Defence Minister Rajnath Singh recently praised India’s robust response to terrorism, asserting that the Indian military successfully achieved all the objectives of Operation Sindoor. He further emphasized that India’s fight against cross-border terrorism will continue unabated.
Addressing a group of soldiers at a military base in Bhuj, Gujarat, ahead of performing a ‘shastra puja’ (worship of weapons) on the occasion of Dussehra, Rajnath Singh detailed the events of Operation Sindoor. According to the Defence Minister, Pakistan made an unsuccessful attempt to penetrate India’s defence system during the operation, spanning from Leh to Sir Creek. However, he stated that the Indian Armed Forces “exposed” the Pakistani air defence apparatus and sent a clear message to the world about India’s capability to inflict heavy losses on adversaries.
“During Operation Sindoor, Pakistan made an unsuccessful attempt to penetrate India’s defence system from Leh to Sir Creek,” Rajnath Singh said, as reported by news agency PTI. He added, “However, in its retaliatory action, Indian forces completely exposed the Pakistani air defence system and sent a message to the world that Indian forces can inflict heavy losses on Pakistan whenever and wherever they wish.”
The Defence Minister also highlighted India’s restraint during the operation, clarifying that the military action targeted terrorism specifically and not ordinary citizens. He asserted, “Escalating it and starting a war was not the objective of Operation Sindoor. I am happy that Indian forces have successfully achieved all the military objectives of Operation Sindoor. But our fight against terrorism continues,” as cited by news agency ANI.
Earlier last week, Rajnath Singh also paid tribute to the valour of the armed forces during the decommissioning ceremony of the Russian-origin MiG-21 at Chandigarh Air Force Station. Hailing the MiG-21 as a significant contributor to India’s journey of bravery, the Defence Minister expressed his pride and gratitude. “We gathered here for the final operational sortie of MiG-21. Being amongst you, I have emotions of pride and gratitude,” he remarked, as reported by PTI.
