**Indore Traffic Police Crack Down on Heavy Vehicle Violations Following Fatal Accident**
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Following a tragic accident caused by a reckless truck driver on Aerodrome Road that claimed three lives and injured a dozen people, local traffic police have intensified their efforts to curb heavy vehicle violations in the city’s no-entry zones.
Between September 16 and September 30, traffic authorities took action against 439 heavy vehicles found violating no-entry regulations across various parts of Indore. Of these, 425 vehicles were fined on the spot, resulting in a total penalty collection of Rs 21.25 lakh. Additionally, 14 cases were forwarded to the courts for further legal proceedings.
In several instances, drivers of heavy vehicles were detected operating under the influence of alcohol. Their vehicles were seized, and appropriate legal action was initiated against the offenders.
To reinforce compliance, officials have engaged with transport associations to raise awareness about traffic rules and the importance of adherence to prevent violations. Transport operators have pledged full cooperation and support for strict enforcement measures.
Moreover, signboards are being installed at no-entry points across the city in collaboration with the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) to better guide drivers and minimize breaches.
Authorities report a significant decline in no-entry violations as a result of these stringent monitoring and enforcement efforts. Traffic police have urged all drivers and transport operators to strictly follow traffic regulations, avoid illegal operations, and contribute to the safety and well-being of the city’s residents.
