MANILA, Philippines – The local stock barometer settled just below the 6,100 mark on Wednesday, fueled by growing optimism over the central bank’s next move.
This positive sentiment was especially pronounced after data showed that inflation in September slowed down more than expected.
By the end of the trading session, the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) gained 0.25 percent, or 14.91 points, closing at 6,098.74.
