Cole Palmer injury return timeline emerges after Chelsea star is spotted by fans

Posted on 2025 年 10 月 8 日 by admin

Cole Palmer has been ruled out of action for Chelsea in recent weeks due to a groin injury. The England ace has now been spotted out in Dubai during the international break, raising questions about his recovery and future availability.

Palmer was recently photographed with supporters in Dubai as he continues his rehabilitation from the groin injury. The Chelsea forward is expected to remain sidelined until at least next month, with surgery ruled out for the time being.

The 23-year-old has struggled with the problem since the beginning of the 2025/26 season, managing just 140 minutes on the pitch since September. In August, Palmer was withdrawn from the starting line-up against West Ham United at the last minute and spent another two weeks receiving treatment before making his comeback. His return saw him score as a substitute against Brentford last month.

However, just seven days later, he was taken off early during Chelsea’s loss at Manchester United and has been absent for the last four fixtures since then.

Enzo Maresca has dismissed any possibility of Palmer’s involvement in Chelsea’s recent victory over Liverpool. His candid assessment suggests the forward may still be unavailable following the October international break. Speaking last Friday, Maresca said, “Cole is still out. I don’t have any updates at the moment. We have a meeting this week to see how he is, and we will then decide [whether he can return after the international break].”

While many Chelsea players have been away on international duty, Palmer has seemingly left west London as well. Several photographs of the Chelsea star alongside fans in Dubai have emerged on social media. The exact reason for his trip to the Middle East remains unclear, with theories ranging from consulting a specialist to simply being granted some time off after weeks unable to train at Cobham.

According to The Daily Mail, Palmer is expected to be sidelined for weeks rather than months, with a potential comeback targeted for November. The injury is reportedly not severe enough to warrant surgery. November also coincides with a scheduled two-week domestic break, making it unlikely that Palmer will be released to travel to St George’s Park during that time.

Remarks from England manager Thomas Tuchel have added to the concerns about Palmer’s condition, describing the issue as “chronic.” Palmer has not yet received a call-up to the Three Lions this season, and that looks set to continue for the rest of 2025.

Given his influence for Chelsea in recent years, the club will be eager to have Palmer back on the pitch as soon as possible. However, they will be cautious to ensure he does not suffer any permanent damage.

Despite missing the triumph over Liverpool, Palmer was heavily involved in the celebrations following the dramatic victory against the Premier League champions. After sharing a celebration with match-winner Estevao Willian, teammate Jorrel Hato enthusiastically leapt onto Palmer, causing him instant discomfort in his groin.

Chelsea fans will be hoping for positive updates on Palmer’s recovery soon as he looks to return stronger and help the club push forward in the season.
