**Tragic Accident on Mumbai–Nashik Highway: Father and Daughter Crushed to Death**
A devastating accident claimed the lives of a 50-year-old man and his three-year-old daughter on Thursday, near Padgha-Borivali village on the Mumbai–Nashik Highway. The man’s wife sustained serious injuries in the mishap after their motorcycle was hit by a truck.
**Victims Identified**
The deceased have been identified as Saheem Khot (50) and his daughter, Mariyam. Saheem’s wife, Subi Khot, who was injured in the accident, is a resident of Padgha-Borivali village near Jama Masjid, within the Padgha police station jurisdiction.
**Accident Details**
According to police sources, Saheem Khot was riding his motorcycle with his wife and ailing daughter, heading to a clinic in Bhiwandi. Upon reaching the Saidhara Building area on the highway, Khot reportedly attempted to change lanes by overtaking a truck and an autorickshaw.
During this maneuver, the motorcycle collided with the truck and got caught under its wheels, fatally crushing both Saheem and his daughter.
**Immediate Response and Hospitalisation**
Bystanders quickly rushed to the scene and found Saheem and Mariyam trapped under the rear wheels of the truck, while Subi was lying injured on the road. All three were promptly taken to a nearby hospital.
Unfortunately, Saheem and Mariyam were declared dead on arrival. Subi was later referred to a private hospital in Thane, where she is currently battling for her life.
**Family and Legal Action**
Saheem is survived by his wife Subi, three sons, and a daughter.
The police have registered an FIR under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act against the truck driver. Investigation into the accident is ongoing.
