**Indore: Three Friends Stab 28-Year-Old to Death During Drunken Brawl**
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A 28-year-old youth was stabbed to death by three friends during a drunken brawl in the Hiranagar police station area late Thursday night. The group was consuming liquor together when an argument over money erupted, escalating into a fatal altercation.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Umesh alias Bablu Joshi, a resident of Kabitkhedi. The accused have been named as Cheena Thakur, his brother Pappi, and their friend Ashish Chauhan.
The incident took place near a drain where the four were drinking. During the heated argument, the trio attacked Umesh with knives, inflicting serious injuries. He was rushed to MY Hospital but succumbed to his wounds.
Police reports state that after being stabbed, Umesh attempted to escape by running a short distance; however, the attackers chased and ultimately killed him.
### Arrests Made
Ashish Chauhan was detained on the same night of the crime, while Cheena Thakur and his brother Pappi were arrested on Friday afternoon.
### Victim Lived With the Accused
Preliminary investigations reveal that Umesh often stayed with Cheena and Pappi, and the three frequently consumed alcohol together. Cheena reportedly financially supported Umesh, who was unemployed.
Approximately ten days prior to the incident, Umesh’s ancestral house in Scheme No. 51 was sold. On the night of the murder, Cheena demanded a share of the money from Umesh. When Umesh refused, Cheena, Pappi, and Ashish attacked him with knives, resulting in his death.
### Criminal Records of the Accused
Police records indicate that Cheena Thakur and his brother Pappi have multiple cases registered against them in the Hiranagar, Pardeshipura, and Lasudia police stations.
### Second Murder in Two Days
This tragic incident marks the second murder reported in the city within two days. Earlier on Thursday morning, the body of a 70-year-old retired BSNL employee was found with stab wounds on the roadside in the Chandan Nagar area.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into both cases.
