Halloween and the week surrounding it could potentially be dampened, as the possibility grows for nor’easter development off the East Coast before heading into the Northeast by mid to late next week. Parts of the Mid-Atlantic could also be impacted by rain as this system approaches.
With the potential storm still 6-10 days away, the precise impacts, timing, and location remain uncertain. However, based on evaluations of next week’s weather pattern, Halloween could see rain and wind, according to NBC Boston.
Around the mid to late portion of the upcoming week, a window may open for powerful storm development. Multiple forecast models suggest a strong low-pressure system could form along the East Coast. Conversely, some models maintain the storm will remain farther from the United States or will be weaker in intensity.
If the stronger storm scenario unfolds, the Northeast could experience heavy rain and gusty winds throughout Halloween week. Additionally, areas of the Mid-Atlantic might see soggy conditions, as reported by The Weather Channel. In the weaker storm scenario, scattered showers with less impactful weather are expected.
Fortunately, the risk of coastal flooding should remain minor due to low astronomical tides, even if the storm strengthens, unless there is a significant intensification of the system, NBC Boston notes.
The Daily Caller will continue to provide updates on the potential nor’easter as the week progresses. Stay tuned for the latest forecasts and weather alerts.
