Netflix and fight promoter Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) have announced that the highly anticipated boxing match between Jake Paul and Gervonta “Tank” Davis, originally scheduled for Friday, November 14, will no longer take place.
The event was set to be livestreamed worldwide on Netflix and held at Miami’s Kaseya Center. However, MVP confirmed that the fight has been canceled amid ongoing legal issues involving Davis.
The announcement follows recent news that Davis was sued last week in connection with another alleged domestic incident. According to an ESPN report, Davis was accused by his ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossel, of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
“Our team has worked closely with all parties to navigate this situation responsibly,” said Nakisa Bidarian, CEO of Most Valuable Promotions. “While we will not be moving forward with this event, our plan still remains for Jake Paul to headline an event on Netflix in 2025. Details regarding a new date, location, Jake’s opponent, and additional bouts will be shared as soon as they are finalized.”
MVP also expressed gratitude to its partners, stating, “We thank Netflix, the Kaseya Center, and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for their partnership.”
Fans who purchased tickets for the canceled Davis event will receive automatic refunds through their original point of purchase within 14 to 21 days, according to MVP.
More information about Jake Paul’s upcoming fight plans will be announced in the near future.
