On Tuesday, November 4, Dunne shared a series of videos on her Instagram story, showing her followers the beautiful surprise birthday celebration of her mother. The first video featured the decoration and the cake for the special day. She added a wish that read: “Happy birthday Mama Dunne💞.”
In the second update, she posted a video of her mother entering the room, who immediately got teary-eyed after witnessing the special celebration. Dunne wrote, “I think she likes it!”
In the third story, the former gymnast was seen hugging her mother tight and penned a caption that read, “I love you mom!💞 Happy birthday.”
Earlier this year in May, Dunne and her mother went together on a Bermuda trip for the former’s photoshoot for the Swimsuit edition of SI magazine. The 22-year-old shared a video from the trip on her Instagram, showing a sneak peek of her preparations for the photoshoot. It also featured some endearing glimpses of her dinner outing with her mother. The post’s caption read: “Best 24 hrs everrr👙🩵 @si_swimsuit #siswimsuit #beach #travel #model #cover #college #athlete.”
Her mother, Katherine, dropped a sweet reaction to this post, writing: “The best 24 hours. We need to go back.”
Talking about NCAA gymnastics events being broadcast on channels like ESPN and ABC, Katherine said that it gives her daughter another chance to grow the sport. “I think it’s an important moment for women’s gymnastics. I think coming off of an Olympic year there’s extra enthusiasm for the sport, and I think it will continue to give it the recognition that these women deserve.”
