Two-division ONE MMA world champion Christian Lee aims to erase all doubts in his upcoming rematch with Alibeg Rasulov. The pair of elite 170-pounders will run it back in one of five world title bouts at the star-studded **ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri** event on November 16, taking place at Tokyo’s Ariake Arena. This time, they will fight for the lightweight MMA world championship.
Their first encounter at ONE Fight Night 26 marked Lee’s return following a lengthy hiatus. “The Warrior” looked sharp as usual and had the early lead on the judges’ scorecards after dominating the striking and grappling exchanges. However, disaster struck when the Singaporean-American accidentally poked the challenger in the eye, rendering Rasulov unable to continue.
Due to this unfortunate incident, the fight was declared a no-contest, making a rematch absolutely necessary. Moreover, Rasulov insisted he was about to turn the tide before the incident interrupted the bout.
This time around, Lee promises there will be no controversies. He aims to take out the undefeated Turkish star with a decisive finish. Speaking to ONE Championship, Lee said:
> “I think I’m gonna just take him down and submit him in the first round. I plan on going in there and wasting no time. I see it ending in a few different ways, but if I could just stay straightforward, I think that I’ll take him down, and I’ll submit him within the first five minutes.”
