EXCLUSIVE: Betty Gilpin is exec producing, having penned the original script, with revisions by Erin Cressida Wilson (The Girl on the Train, Secretary) and Amy Herzog. The film falls under Amazon MGM’s newly renewed first-look deal with Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Entertainment. A three-time Emmy nominee, two-time SAG Award nominee, and three-time Critics Choice nominee for her breakout work on Netflix’s GLOW, Gilpin currently stars opposite Michael Shannon and Matthew Macfadyen in Netflix’s limited series Death by Lightning, chronicling the life, death and presidency of James A. Garfield. She also appears in the independent series Hal & Harper, opposite Cooper Raiff, Mark Ruffalo, and Lili Reinhart, which was acquired by Mubi following its Sundance premiere. Gilpin made her Broadway debut earlier this year as Mary Todd Lincoln, becoming the first actor to take over the titular role in Cole Escola’s Oh Mary! at The Lyceum Theatre. After wrapping a key role opposite Matthew Rhys in Apple’s Widow’s Bay, she signed on for Aaron Sorkin’s The Social Reckoning and will next be seen co-starring with Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein in Ol Parker’s Netflix rom-com Office Romance.
