Under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Rajesh Verma and the leadership of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Dr. Milind Hirwe, IRTS, the Pune Railway Division has successfully exceeded its Goods Traffic revenue target for the financial year 2024-25.
A target of ₹506.80 crore was fixed for FY 2024-25, and the division has impressively surpassed it by 3.4%, achieving a total revenue of ₹524.14 crore to date—well in advance of the completion of the financial year.
### Exceptional Growth in Sugar Traffic
Pune Division has recorded substantial growth in sugar traffic, which is reflected in a significant increase in revenue:
– **Last Year (2023-24):** 335 rakes dispatched, generating ₹231.56 crore in revenue.
– **Current Year (2024-25):** 442 rakes loaded, generating ₹306.41 crore in revenue.
This represents a remarkable 32% increase in sugar traffic, highlighting the division’s strengthened market presence and operational efficiency.
### New Traffic Stream – Molasses Loading
Adding to its growth, Pune Division has successfully introduced Molasses as a new traffic stream. Molasses is now being loaded from Miraj, Shrigonda, Belapur, and Karad, destined for various locations in Southern India, including Manamadurai Jn, Chipurupalle, Tiruchchirappalli, and Nellaikuppam.
