**Fake Jeffrey Epstein Suicide Video Briefly Appears on Official DOJ Website**
*Dec. 22, 2025, Updated 5:53 p.m. ET*
An apparently fake video that seemed to show Jeffrey Epstein committing suicide somehow made its way into the Epstein file dump, RadarOnline.com can report. Shockingly, the brief 12-second clip even appeared on the official Department of Justice (DOJ) website before vanishing almost immediately after going viral.
The clip featured a person in a prison cell rocking back and forth suspiciously. It included a timestamp from 4:29 a.m. on August 10, 2019—the day Epstein was found dead in his cell—and was discovered in the DOJ’s Epstein Library “DataSet 8” without any official explanation.
The video shows a gray-haired man in an orange jumpsuit shaking his head, possibly simulating strangulation. However, immediate doubts and inconsistencies quickly emerged. Online sleuths noted that the door in the footage did not match the one in Epstein’s real cell, among other discrepancies.
Within minutes of the clip’s discovery online, Justice Department officials removed the video from the site. It was replaced with a broken page accompanied by the message:
*”This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it.”*

### Social Media Outrage
RadarOnline confirmed the footage dates back to a YouTube post from October 1, 2020. In the comments section, viewers expressed shock that the DOJ seemingly “fell for it.”
One comment read:
*”There’s no f—— way we live in the timeline where the US Department of Justice releases 5-year-old AI videos as official evidence.”*
Another added:
*”Are we seriously living in a timeline where the US government is uploading YouTube animations and passing them off as real?”*
A third user noted:
*”Love how the feds took this s— and put it in the files, but forgot to tell YouTube to delete this one.”*
RadarOnline has reached out to the Department of Justice for comment.

### Questions About Epstein’s Death
The official story is that Jeffrey Epstein hanged himself in his prison cell in 2019, while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. However, many remain convinced that Epstein was murdered to prevent him from revealing incriminating information and names on his infamous “list.”
Even Epstein’s longtime companion and alleged fixer, Ghislaine Maxwell, reportedly believes he was targeted behind bars. According to Maxwell’s brother, Ian, she does not believe Epstein took his own life.
Ian stated:
*”Ghislaine believes he was murdered, and certainly there were murderers on the wing of the prison where Epstein was held.”*
He also suggested it’s possible Epstein may have paid someone to kill him, adding:
*”It’s a theory that can’t be discounted.”*
Ian further pointed to a “strange object” found in Epstein’s cell—a “wire flex from a CPAP machine”—and referenced forensic opinions claiming Epstein’s injuries were more consistent with homicide than suicidal strangulation.

After Epstein’s death, the official ruling from the New York City medical examiner classified the cause as suicide by hanging. Still, public doubts linger.
Notably, just days before Epstein was found dead, he had been taken off suicide watch by a doctoral-level psychologist, the Justice Department revealed in a letter to Congress.
Epstein had been placed on suicide watch in July after being found with marks around his neck. However, after evaluation, the psychologist determined suicide watch was no longer warranted, resulting in his removal from the program shortly before his death.
