In a major development ahead of its theatrical release, the Madhya Pradesh High Court has rejected the plea filed by Siddiqua Begum, who claims to be the daughter of Shah Bano, seeking a stay on the release of Haq. The upcoming film, starring Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam Dhar, has been at the centre of controversy after Siddiqua challenged the makers for allegedly portraying her mother’s story without the family’s consent. Siddiqua Begum had approached the court demanding a ban on the film’s release and promotional activities, arguing that Haq draws directly from the life and personal experiences of her late mother, Shah Bano, whose historic 1985 Supreme Court case reshaped Indian legal and social discourse. According to Siddiqua, the film infringes upon the family’s privacy and misuses personal details under the guise of creative liberty. The legal team representing Haq, however, strongly refuted the claims. They clarified that the film is not a biographical retelling but is inspired by the well-known Supreme Court judgment in the case Mohd Ahmed Khan vs Shah Bano Begum. The team further stated that the story draws from the published novel ‘Bano, Bharat Ki Beti’ by Jigna Vora, and focuses more on the court proceedings without referencing personal family matters. The High Court seems that the court has taken these arguments into consideration, as it has refused to impose any restrictions on the film, allowing its release to proceed as scheduled. The controversy had previously been addressed by Emraan Hashmi in an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, where he expressed the team’s awareness of the issue’s sensitivity. “All I can say is that I think we have been very sensitive to the overall issue. We are not passing judgement or pointing a finger at a particular thing in this film on the case. We have extrapolated certain things inspired from that case. We have been very sensitive in the way we have documented it in the film. Again, it’s a sensitive thing, so I can’t really go beyond that,” he had said. Directed by Suparn S. Varma, Haq marks the first on-screen collaboration between Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam Dhar. Early screenings have already earned the film strong praise from critics for its compelling narrative and performances. With the court’s decision now clearing the path, we believe Haq will arrive in cinemas on November 7, as originally planned. Federal workers must now ‘clearly’ show support for Trump on year-end reviews: report
The Trump administration has added a new requirement to its performance reviews this year that requires workers in the Department of Health and Human Services to produce evidence that they “clearly and demonstrably support implementation” of President Donald Trump’s agenda, according to a new report. HuffPost reported on Monday that “tens of thousands” of HHS employees have received notice that the new requirements will be on their end-of-year reviews. The new metric, dubbed “Faithful Support of Administration of the Law and the President’s Policies,” is one of four new “critical elements” added to their performance reviews, according to the report. HuffPost said that an HHS employee shared a screenshot of the new policy with the outlet. “So basically, we swear we’re going to follow Trump’s policies, which is ridiculous,” the HHS employee, who was granted anonymity, told the outlet.“This is the most critical element for reviewing the job performance of someone who serves under the elected President,” the new language reads in part. “Faithful administration of one’s role in the Executive Branch requires commitment to the principles of the Founding, including equality under the law and democratic self-government,” it adds. “All Senior Professionals must clearly and demonstrably support implementation of the President’s policy priorities through specific results that align with and advance the President’s specific policy agenda.”Read the entire report by clicking here.

DOJ case against top Trump foe flattened by prosecutors’ own memo: report
President Donald Trump’s criminal case against New York Attorney General Letitia James was thoroughly flattened in a prosecution memo drafted by people who had investigated the case for months, reported ABC News on Thursday. The controversy stems from a second home James purchased, which Trump’s housing finance director, Bill Pulte, claimed was made with fraudulent statements on a mortgage application. When the seasoned prosecutor heading up the Eastern District of Virginia U. S. Attorney’s office refused to bring this case, Trump forced him out and replaced him with partisan loyalist Lindsey Halligan, who promptly took the charges to a grand jury and secured an indictment. However, according to the report, prosecutors listed serious problems with the charges from the start in this memo, concluding “that any financial benefit derived from her allegedly falsified mortgage would have amounted to approximately $800 in the year she purchased the home . The government lawyers also expressed concern that the case could likely not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt because federal mortgage guidelines for a second home do not clearly define occupancy, a key element of the case, according to sources.”This comes after reporting that Halligan fired Elizabeth Yusi, the career line prosecutor who drafted the memo, last week. It also comes after Halligan has made a number of glaring mistakes in her quest to prosecute both James and FBI Director James Comey, including filing incorrect charging documents with the court.
