Telugu cinema’s action drama *Devara* is set to return with a sequel, the makers officially announced on Saturday. Titled *Devara 2*, the film will reportedly see Jr NTR reprise dual roles as both father and son.
The original movie, directed by Koratala Siva, was released on September 27 last year. It became a box-office hit and firmly established Siva as one of Telugu cinema’s top storytellers.

To mark the first anniversary of *Devara*, the production team shared a cryptic yet celebratory post on social media. The message read:
*”It’s been one year since HAVOC struck the shores, trembling every coast, and the name the world remembers is #DEVARA. Be it the FEAR it unleashed or the LOVE it earned, the streets will never forget. Now gear up for #Devara2.”*
This teaser has fans buzzing with excitement and anticipation.
### ‘Man of Masses’ — Sequel Expectations
*Devara* ended on a cliffhanger, leaving fans eager for answers and a continuation of the story. Both Jr NTR and director Koratala Siva had previously hinted that a sequel was inevitable, and now the makers have officially confirmed the project.
The first film notably featured the Telugu debuts of Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, alongside veteran actors such as Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, Narain, Kalaiyarasan, and Murali Sharma.
### Jr NTR’s Career Focus: Telugu Cinema After ‘War 2’
After the disappointing performance of *War 2*, which also starred Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR is reportedly reassessing his Bollywood ventures and plans to focus more on Telugu films.
Trade analyst Ramesh Bala told *India Today*, “I think his next will be a Telugu movie. He has to collaborate with a strong director, either a big Telugu or Tamil director. He should do a film that has mass appeal like *Pushpa*.”
