Ottawa 67s Cruise Past Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 7-3

OTTAWA — Shaan Kingwell, Brock Chitaroni, and Thomas Vandenberg each recorded a goal and an assist as the Ottawa 67s defeated the visiting Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 7-3 in Ontario Hockey League (OHL) action on Sunday.

Jasper Kuhta, Spencer Bowes, Nathan Amidovski, and Nic Whitehead also found the back of the net for the 67s. Despite trailing 2-1 after the first period, Ottawa surged to lead 4-2 heading into the third.

For the Greyhounds, goals came from Jordan Charron, Tobias Zvolensky, and Christopher Brown. Ottawa outshot Sault Ste. Marie 26-23 in the game. The 67s converted 1-of-3 power-play opportunities, while the Greyhounds went 1-for-2.

Sarnia Sting Top Flint Firebirds 7-4

SARNIA, Ont. — Jack Van Volsen scored twice and Lukas Fischer contributed three assists as the Sarnia Sting overwhelmed the Flint Firebirds 7-4 on Sunday.

Beckham Edwards, Matthew Manza, Ben Pickell, Cameron Aucoin, and Carson Hall also scored for the Sting, who took an early 3-0 lead after the first period and went up 5-3 after two periods.

Ryan Brown and Edwards each tallied two assists. For the Firebirds, goals were scored by Chase Hull, Josh Colosimo, Alex Kostov, and Matthew Wang, with Charlie Murata adding two assists.

Owen Sound Attack Edge Barrie Colts 5-4

OWEN SOUND, Ont. — Landon Jackman scored the game-winning goal at 15:49 of the second period to lift the Owen Sound Attack to a 5-4 victory over the visiting Barrie Colts.

Pierce Mbuyi, Jake Crawford, Michael Dec, and Nicholas Sykora also scored for the Attack, who held a 2-1 lead after the first and a 5-4 advantage heading into the final frame.

Braedyn Rogers contributed two assists. The Colts’ goals came from Carter Lowe, Calvin Crombie, Jaiden Newton, and Ethan Armstrong. Barrie was outshot 45-31 in the contest.

Brad Gardiner and Kashawn Aitcheson each tallied two assists for the Colts.

Kingston Frontenacs Defeat North Bay Battalion 2-1

NORTH BAY, Ont. — Kieren Dervin scored the game-winning goal at 19:21 of the first period as the Kingston Frontenacs edged the North Bay Battalion 2-1 on the road.

Jacob Battaglia also scored for Kingston, who were outshot 43-24 but received a standout performance from netminder Matthew Minchak, who stopped 42 of 43 shots.

Evgeny Dubrovtsev scored the lone goal for North Bay. Battalion goalie Jack Lisson made 22 saves on 24 shots.

Windsor Spitfires Shut Out Oshawa Generals 4-1

OSHAWA, Ont. — Ethan Garden led the charge with a goal and three assists, while Ethan Belchetz and Jean-Christoph Lemieux each notched a goal and an assist as the visiting Windsor Spitfires defeated the Oshawa Generals 4-1.

Cole Dubowsky also scored for the Spitfires, who were outshot 36-27 but benefited from stellar goaltending by Michael Newlove.

Sam Roberts scored for Oshawa, who trailed 2-1 after the opening period. There was no scoring in the second period.

Windsor went 0-for-5 on the power play, while the Generals were 0-for-4.
