How to Get Machop and Its Evolutions in Pokémon Legends Z-A
Pokémon Legends Z-A offers an extensive lineup of critters to catch throughout the sizable open world of Lumiose City. Among the many returning wild Pokémon is the Machop line, featuring Machop, Machoke, and Machamp. While obtaining Machop and Machoke is relatively straightforward, catching Machamp—the powerful four-armed juggernaut—requires a few extra steps. This guide covers everything you need to know to get Machop and its two evolutions in Pokémon Legends Z-A.
How to Get Machop in Pokémon Legends Z-A
Machop is a Fighting-type Pokémon that can be found in Wild Zones 8 and 12. Originally introduced in Generation 1 (Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow), Machop has been a series staple ever since.
The best way to get Machop is to find it in the wild. It is a fairly common spawn in these two Wild Zones, so you shouldn’t have much trouble tracking one down. However, both Wild Zones 8 and 12 are teeming with several other wild Pokémon, including powerful Alpha Pokémon, all of which may attack simultaneously while you’re trying to catch Machop.
For this reason, it’s advisable to proceed with caution when hunting for Machop. Alternatively, you can try clearing the area of other Pokémon beforehand, allowing you to catch Machop without interruptions.
How to Get Machoke in Pokémon Legends Z-A
Machop evolves into Machoke starting at level 28. Machoke is also a solo Fighting-type Pokémon. Since you’ll typically find Machop around levels mid-20s in Wild Zone 8 and mid-30s in Wild Zone 12, raising your Machop to level 28 to evolve it into Machoke shouldn’t be difficult.
Additionally, Wild Zone 12 hosts wild Machoke as well, so if you’re looking to acquire the middle evolution directly, this area is your best bet. Keep in mind that Wild Zone 12 features high-level and aggressive wild Pokémon, so make sure your party is strong enough to handle the challenges before venturing there.
How to Get Machamp in Pokémon Legends Z-A
Machamp is the evolution of Machoke and remains a Fighting-type Pokémon. Unlike most Pokémon, Machoke cannot evolve into Machamp simply by leveling up. Instead, it requires a trade to evolve.
In other words, Machoke is one of the few Pokémon in Pokémon Legends Z-A that evolves via trade. Fortunately, Game Freak has implemented a user-friendly system to facilitate this process.
To trade Machoke, use the Trade option found under the Link Play menu. However, a Trade Code is required to initiate the trade. Trade Codes are special eight-digit codes corresponding to specific Pokémon. Players enter these codes to swap the same Pokémon species with random online players, allowing both to receive the evolved form.
The Trade Code for Machoke is 0126 0126. After entering this code under the Faraway Players tab, two players will exchange their Machoke, resulting in each player obtaining a Machamp.
