The Milwaukee Bucks kicked off their season with an impressive 133-120 victory over the Washington Wizards at Fiserv Forum.
Myles Turner made a strong return, contributing 11 points, eight rebounds, and five assists. However, it was Giannis Antetokounmpo who dominated the game, putting up a stellar 37 points and 14 rebounds. While Turner is expected to produce even better stat lines during his time in Milwaukee, he was clearly blown away by the energy from the crowd. With over 17,000 fans in attendance, Turner expressed his excitement on X, writing, “@FiservForum & @Bucks Fans Y’all’s Energy Was DOPE Tonight Man!!! Preciate Yall Making My Debut Special! 🦌 🦌 🦌”.
The Bucks set the tone early and controlled the game from start to finish. They built a commanding 17-point lead after the first quarter and were already 19 points ahead by halftime. Giannis proved to be a consistent threat in both halves, shooting 16-26 from the field and scoring 24 of his 37 points in the second half alone.
In addition to the Greek Freak’s performance, Milwaukee saw strong contributions across the board. Seven players scored in double digits, while Ryan Rollins added nine points off the bench. Turner will no doubt be pleased with how quickly the team gelled around him in his debut.
For the Wizards, former Bucks star Khris Middleton led the scoring with 23 points. Kyshawn George added a solid 21 points, and Alex Sarr recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Despite the Wizards’ efforts, the Bucks’ fast-paced, transition-heavy style of basketball, introduced by coach Doc Rivers, produced immediate results. Giannis appeared comfortable all night, tallying five assists and knocking down one of three three-point attempts. He also kept turnovers low with just two.
Milwaukee’s shooting from deep was impressive throughout the game, finishing 18-44 overall from beyond the arc. They started strong, going 5-6 on three-pointers in the first five minutes alone.
With a dominant team performance and high energy from their home crowd, the Bucks look poised to build on this strong start as the season progresses under Doc Rivers’ leadership.
