Bollywood star Rani Mukerji is all set to reprise her role as the fearless cop Shivani Shivaji Roy in the much-anticipated *Mardaani 3*. The third installment of the popular franchise, directed by Abhiraj Minawala, is scheduled to hit theaters on February 27, 2026.
### Poster Reveal: Celebrating the Victory of Good Over Evil
To mark the first day of Navratri, Yash Raj Films (YRF) unveiled a compelling new poster for the film. The poster features a close-up of Mukerji’s hand gripping a black gun, with a blurred yellow police barricade in the background that reads “DELHI POLICE.”
Sharing the poster on X, YRF captioned, “On the auspicious Day 1 of Navratri, here’s to celebrating the victory of good over evil. #RaniMukerji returns as top cop Shivani Shivaji Roy in *Mardaani 3* to investigate the most challenging case of her career.”
### The *Mardaani* Franchise: A Journey So Far
The *Mardaani* series began nearly a decade ago with its first film releasing in 2014. Since then, it has garnered critical and commercial success for tackling hard-hitting narratives that spotlight societal issues and crimes against women.
The sequel, *Mardaani 2*, was released in 2019 and directed by Gopi Puthran. With *Mardaani 3*, the franchise continues its commitment to powerful storytelling and intense crime dramas led by Mukerji’s dynamic portrayal of Shivani.
### Rani Mukerji’s Recent Work and Upcoming Projects
Rani Mukerji was last seen in the critically and commercially acclaimed *Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway*, directed by Ashima Chibber. Released in March 2023, the film earned Mukerji her first National Film Award.
In addition to *Mardaani 3*, Mukerji is also expected to make a cameo appearance in *King* and has reportedly been cast to play Suhana Khan’s mother in an upcoming project.
