The Indianapolis Colts improved their record to 8-2 after a hard-fought 31-25 victory over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10. The win showcased yet another strong performance from running back Jonathan Taylor. However, the spotlight quietly shone on quarterback Daniel Jones, who achieved a milestone not seen in Indianapolis since the days of Peyton Manning.
Jones threw for 255 yards on Sunday, marking the 10th consecutive game in which he surpassed the 200-yard passing mark this season. According to the Colts’ Vice President of Football Communications, Matt Conti, Jones and Manning are the only quarterbacks in franchise history to have thrown for 200 or more yards in each of the team’s first 10 games of a season.
“Daniel Jones has thrown for over 200 yards in every game this season,” Conti said. “He joins Peyton Manning as the only Colts quarterback to do so in the team’s first 10 games. Sunday also marked Jones’ third career game with at least 250 passing yards and 50 rushing yards.”
After a challenging six-year tenure with the New York Giants, the 28-year-old Jones appears to have finally found his stride in Indianapolis. Through 10 games as the Colts’ starting quarterback, he has amassed 2,659 passing yards, 20 total touchdowns (15 passing), and boasts a 69.9% completion percentage. This season has been a clear redemption story for Jones, as the Colts have surged to become one of the league’s hottest teams.
The front office capitalized on the team’s strong position by acquiring cornerback Sauce Gardner from the New York Jets at the trade deadline, further bolstering the roster. With this talent and momentum, Indianapolis is well-positioned for a playoff berth — provided they maintain their current course.
The Colts will enjoy a Week 11 bye before returning to action in Week 12 against the Kansas City Chiefs. That matchup promises to be a challenge, as the Chiefs have won three of their last four games.
Stay tuned as Daniel Jones and the Colts continue their quest for postseason success.
