First, head to the library and talk to Crispin. Trade him some mint and sage to receive the recipe. Crispin will recommend a book you should read to get the recipe. Note that in the book, the recipe is called **”Essential Oils.”**
#### Step 2: Gather Ingredients
Make sure you have plenty of the following herbs:
– Chamomile
– Sage
– Valerian
You can find all three herbs in the herb garden located to the east of the infirmary.
#### Step 3: Brewing the Aromatic Oils
Once you have all the ingredients, return to the alchemy table and follow these steps:
1. Open the alchemy book and navigate to the **aromatic oils** recipe.
2. Hold **E** to prepare the ingredients; this will place them in pouches on the shelf to your right.
3. Take the pot of oil on the left and pour it into the cauldron.
4. Add three handfuls of chamomile to the cauldron.
5. Lower the cauldron onto the flames and wait for it to boil.
6. As soon as it boils, turn the timer upside down and let the sand flow through completely.
7. Repeat the boiling and timing process twice more, for a total of three times.
8. Raise the cauldron back up.
9. Take a handful of sage, put it in the mortar, and grind it with the pestle.
10. Add the ground sage to the cauldron.
11. Lower the cauldron, wait for it to boil, then turn the timer upside down again.
12. Raise the cauldron as soon as the sand has emptied.
13. Take a handful of valerian, grind it in the mortar, and add it to the cauldron.
If done correctly, you will have successfully prepared your aromatic oils!

– Pay close attention to Henry’s feedback during the brewing process. If something goes wrong, he’ll usually indicate if you boiled something too long or not long enough.
