Bradley the Badger was one of the pre-show announcements for The Game Awards 2025, and it quickly became one of the most exciting reveals to kick off the night. Hollywood actor Evan Peters stars in what appears to be a surreal 3D platformer, described as “a love letter to games” on its Steam page. The game is developed by Day 4 Night, a team formed by Davide Soliani and other former Mario + Rabbids and Red Dead Redemption developers.
In Bradley the Badger, players take on the role of a badger reminiscent of those you might find in classic PlayStation 2, original Xbox, and Nintendo GameCube-era games — or perhaps even from an earlier generation.
The trailer takes several unexpected turns. What begins as a seemingly family-friendly world quickly shifts into a Soulslike, Bloodborne-inspired nightmare. From there, the game transforms into a cyberpunk, sci-fi style adventure before moving on to a dystopian, The Last of Us-like abandoned world.
Throughout the trailer, players interact with game elements designed to appear as unfinished assets that can be manipulated. This mechanic is somewhat similar to how Mario can throw his cap to possess creatures and objects in Super Mario Odyssey.
The trailer presents Bradley the Badger as a wildly inventive and potentially groundbreaking game, showcasing creativity rarely seen in recent titles.
At this time, no release date has been announced, nor is there detailed information about the platforms it will be available on. However, it has been confirmed that the game is coming to PC, at least.
