A young humpback whale attracted a small crowd to the breakwall in Forster, NSW, after swimming down the mouth of the Coolongolook River.
The whale delighted onlookers for more than an hour, captivating those gathered with its presence. Some observers expressed concern that the fast-paced current might be preventing the whale from swimming back out to the open ocean.
Eventually, the whale continued on its way. Witness Emily Jane described the experience to Yahoo News as “spectacular to watch.”
