The All India Marathi Journalists’ Conference (AIMJC) has announced an exciting new initiative to honor individuals making significant contributions beyond the field of journalism. Starting this year, the “Loknete Ramsheth Thakur Social-Educational Service Honor” award will recognize exceptional work in social and educational fields.

This prestigious award is made possible through a generous endowment of Rs 25 lakh by former Member of Parliament Ramsheth Thakur. Recipients of the award will receive a cash prize of Rs 51,111, along with a certificate, memento, shawl, and fruit offerings. The inaugural awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in February 2026.

AIMJC has a long-standing tradition of honoring excellence in journalism. Each year, the organization presents various awards to outstanding journalists. Among them is the “Acharya Balshastri Jambhekar Life Honor Award,” which recognizes senior journalists and includes a cash prize of Rs 25,000, alongside a certificate and memento.
