A 47-year-old man has died three weeks after suffering serious injuries in a car crash.
Emergency services were called to Broad Road in Monaghan in the early hours of September 6th after an SUV struck the man, who was on foot. He was rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, where he received treatment for his serious injuries.
Gardai confirmed that the man died in hospital on Saturday. The coroner has been notified, and a post-mortem examination will be arranged.
Investigations are now underway into the circumstances surrounding the collision. A Gardai spokesperson appealed to road users who were in the area at the time and may have camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, to make it available to assist with the investigation.
