If you own **Little Nightmares** on Nintendo Switch, you won’t be able to upgrade to the new **Enhanced Edition** on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Instead, you will need to purchase the game again.
Bandai Namco has addressed this decision in an official FAQ, explaining that technical constraints prevent a free upgrade for Switch owners. This approach contrasts with other platforms; for example, players who own the original 2017 version on PS4 can upgrade to the PS5 Enhanced Edition at no extra cost.
In the FAQ, Bandai Namco stated:
> “Due to technical constraints, owners of Nintendo Switch consoles and Little Nightmares (2017) won’t be able to get access to Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition. They will need to buy the game again on Nintendo Switch 2.”
It’s important to note that **Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition** is only playable on the Nintendo Switch 2 and not on the original Nintendo Switch console.
The Enhanced Edition is set to launch on **October 10, 2025**. You can learn more about it [here](#).
Additionally, **Little Nightmares 3** will be released on the same day. Check out the trailer [here](#).
