Producers Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak are developing a spin-off centered on the iconic character Langda Tyagi from the 2006 film *Omkara*, according to a report by Pinkvilla.
The original film, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, featured a stellar cast including Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Konkana Sen Sharma. An adaptation of William Shakespeare’s *Othello*, *Omkara* won multiple National Film Awards and remains a landmark in Indian cinema.

A source revealed, “The character of Langda Tyagi portrayed by Saif Ali Khan has stood the test of time, continuing to be referenced in pop culture even after 19 years. Given the audience’s lasting affection for this role, producers Kumar Mangat and Abhishek Pathak are gearing up to bring a spin-off dedicated to Langda Tyagi.”

The script for the Langda Tyagi spin-off is currently underway, with production expected to commence in 2026. However, details regarding the cast are being kept under wraps.
The insider shared, “That’s a secret which will be revealed once the script is finalized. Saif Ali Khan might return to reprise his role in the *Omkara* universe, or the filmmakers may opt for a younger actor to take on the character, essentially rebooting the story.”
