Producers Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak are gearing up to bring a spin-off centered around the iconic character Langda Tyagi from the 2006 cult classic film *Omkara*, according to a report by Pinkvilla.
Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, *Omkara* is an acclaimed adaptation of William Shakespeare’s *Othello*, featuring a star-studded cast including Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Konkana Sen Sharma. The film won several National Film Awards and continues to be celebrated for its powerful storytelling and unforgettable characters.

A source close to the project shared, “The character of Langda Tyagi, portrayed by Saif Ali Khan, has stood the test of time. It continues to feature in pop culture references every few months. Nearly two decades later, inspired by the immense love from audiences, producers Kumar Mangat and Abhishek Pathak are now set to develop a spin-off focused on Langda Tyagi.”

The source revealed that the script for the Langda Tyagi spin-off is currently in development, with production anticipated to begin in 2026. However, specific details about the cast remain undisclosed.
“That’s a secret which will unravel once the script is finalized. Saif Ali Khan might reprise his role, or the makers could opt for a young actor to take on the character, effectively making the project a reboot,” the insider added.
