**GST 2.0: Maruti Cars Become Cheaper by Up to ₹1.3 Lakh**

Maruti Suzuki India has announced a significant price cut across its entire range of cars, effective from September 22, 2025. This move follows the recent reduction in Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates on automobiles. The company is passing on the full benefit of the GST rate cut to its customers, making several models more affordable by up to ₹1.3 lakh.
### Price Reductions Across Models
**Entry-level Cars Get the Highest Cuts**
The steepest price reductions are seen in entry-level cars such as the S-Presso and Alto K10. The S-Presso will now be cheaper by up to ₹1.3 lakh, while the Alto K10 receives a discount of up to ₹1.07 lakh. Other popular models including the Celerio, Wagon-R, Ignis, Swift, Baleno, Tour S, and Dzire also benefit from notable price cuts under this scheme.
**SUVs and Premium Models See Discounts Too**
The price reductions are not limited to entry-level cars. SUVs like the Fronx and Brezza are set to become more affordable by up to ₹1.13 lakh. Premium models also witness price drops as follows:
– Grand Vitara: up to ₹1.07 lakh
– Jimny: up to ₹51,900
– Ertiga: up to ₹46,400
– XL6: up to ₹52,000
– Invicto: up to ₹61,700
### Impact on the Market
Maruti Suzuki’s timely price cut comes amid four months of declining passenger vehicle sales in the Indian auto industry. By passing on the GST benefit directly to customers, Maruti effectively lowers the entry price for buyers, which could stimulate demand.
This strategy is expected to encourage first-time car buyers and fleet sales, boost dealership inventory turnover, and improve overall industry morale. The reduction in prices could play a crucial role in reviving a sluggish auto market, benefiting both consumers and manufacturers alike.
