**Jason Bateman to Direct Tom Holland-Starrer ‘The Partner’**

Hollywood actor-director Jason Bateman is set to direct the film adaptation of John Grisham’s bestselling novel *The Partner*. The movie will star Tom Holland as a junior attorney who fakes his own death to embezzle $90 million from a corrupt client, according to Variety.
The project is being produced by Universal Pictures, which recently took over development from New Regency.
### Director’s Chair and Production Team
Jason Bateman, known for directing films such as *Bad Words* and *The Family Fang*, will also serve as an executive producer on *The Partner*. Tom Holland will not only star in the film but will also produce it through his Billy 17 banner, alongside Harry Holland and Will South.
Other producers attached to the project include Jonathan Eirich for Rideback and Michael Costigan for Aggregate Films.

*The Partner*, published in February 1997, has been a popular bestseller for decades. The film adaptation has been in development for several years. Initially, John Lee Hancock was set to direct the project at New Regency before it transitioned to Universal Pictures.
Universal’s SVP of Production Development Ryan Jones and Director of Production Development Jacqueline Garell will oversee the production. John Grisham and David Gernert are also executive producers on the film.
