**Bhopal Collector Fails to Appear in Court, Bailable Warrant Issued**
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Madhya Pradesh High Court has issued a bailable warrant worth Rs 25,000 against the Bhopal collector, who was scheduled to appear in court on Monday but failed to do so. The Commissioner of Police, Bhopal, has been instructed to ensure the collector’s presence in court on October 16.
The case was filed by Satyanarayan Thakur, a retired government employee, who sought his Revenue Recovery Certificate (RRC) from the Bhopal collector in 2024. The court had ordered the collector to execute the RRC within 60 days unless stayed by any superior court or authority. Additionally, the collector was directed to submit a compliance report of the order to the court registry.
However, the collector did not respond to the order. On August 20, the court directed him to submit an action taken report within 30 days. Upon failing to do so, he was asked to appear in court on Monday, October 6. Despite the directive, the collector neither appeared in court nor filed any compliance or action taken report, nor did he seek exemption from personal presence.
With no alternative, the court issued a bailable warrant to ensure his appearance on October 16. The Commissioner of Police, Bhopal, is tasked with making sure the collector is present in court on that date.
