**Major Human Trafficking Racket Exposed at Mumbai Airport: Travel Agent Caught with Fake Documents**
Mumbai: A significant human trafficking racket was uncovered at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, thanks to the vigilance of immigration officials. Vijay Kumar Radheshyam Grover (43) was apprehended while attempting to take 28-year-old Kamaljit Kaur to Amsterdam, Netherlands, by posing as her husband.
### Discrepancies Lead to Discovery of Fake Documents
During routine questioning, officials detected inconsistencies in their responses. Further scrutiny revealed that the marriage certificate they presented, dated December 2023, was forged. Kamaljit Kaur was immediately rescued, and Grover was detained for further questioning.
### Accused’s Background and Previous Travels
According to police sources, Vijay Kumar Grover works as a travel agent in Delhi and has traveled abroad 13 times to nine different countries, including Thailand, China, Dubai, and London. He is suspected of facilitating passports and visas for approximately 30 to 35 individuals.
On October 7, Grover arrived at Mumbai’s international airport with Kamaljit Kaur, claiming she was his wife and that they were traveling to Amsterdam. However, their false documents and inconsistent statements led to the exposure of the trafficking attempt.
### Case Registered and Investigation Underway
A case has been registered at the Sahar Police Station under sections 143(2), 336(2), 336(3), 340(2), and 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, covering charges related to human trafficking, cheating, and forgery.
The accused allegedly forged marriage documents to fraudulently secure European visas for himself and Kamaljit Kaur and attempted to take her illegally to Amsterdam on flight 6M-21 from Mumbai.
### Network Members Being Traced
The investigation is being led by Senior Police Inspector Mangesh Desai and PSI Sachin Jadhav of the Property Cell, Mumbai Crime Branch. Authorities are now tracing agent Gagandeep Singh Bhinder along with others suspected to be involved in this trafficking network.
Further inquiries are underway to determine whether this case is part of a larger cross-border human trafficking racket operating out of Punjab and Delhi.
### Additional Details
Investigations also revealed that Kamaljit Kaur’s cousin, Sonu, a Belgian citizen, had introduced her to Grover.
Grover has been remanded in police custody until October 15 as the probe continues.
