Hombale Films has officially announced that *Kantara: Chapter 1* will release in IMAX format on October 2. The production house shared a poster on Instagram, promising audiences a “one-of-its-kind cinematic experience.” This release will mark *Kantara: Chapter 1* as the third Indian film to be shot for IMAX, following in the footsteps of *RRR* and *Pathaan*.
The film is a much-anticipated follow-up to the highly successful *Kantara* (2022). Fans can look forward to the movie’s official trailer, which is scheduled to drop next week on September 22 at 12:45 PM, as revealed via a Twitter post by the makers.
### Cinematic Ambition: An Unparalleled Experience
Arvind Kashyap, Director of Photography for the film, emphasized the film’s grand vision, stating that watching *Kantara: Chapter 1* in IMAX would be an unparalleled, immersive cinematic experience. Several key sequences were specially shot for IMAX and PXL formats to enhance the visual storytelling.
The production house aims to redefine Indian cinema by seamlessly blending folklore, faith, and epic storytelling into a compelling narrative, promising viewers a truly immersive experience.
### Massive Production Scale and Epic War Sequence
One of the standout features of *Kantara: Chapter 1* is its massive war sequence, reportedly one of the largest ever filmed in India. According to Koimoi, the sequence involved over 500 fighters and around 3,000 people, including both national and international experts.
Filmed on rugged terrain across a specially constructed town spanning 25 acres, the war scenes took nearly 50 days to shoot, underlining the film’s commitment to grandeur and authenticity.
### Multilingual Release
*Kantara: Chapter 1* is set to release in multiple languages, including Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Bengali, and English, making it accessible to a wide audience across India and beyond.
