MANILA, Philippines — The University of Santo Tomas (UST) kicked off UAAP Season 88 with a grand celebration held across its España campus on Friday. The event attracted a massive crowd, welcoming 36,629 attendees in an Olympic-style ceremony that highlighted the spirit and unity of the Thomasian community.
The festivities took place at the iconic Main Building and Open Field, marking UST’s first time hosting the UAAP opening ceremonies since Season 79 in 2016. This year’s event was centered around the inspiring theme, “Strength,” symbolizing resilience and determination among the athletes and supporters alike.
