**Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Three Friends Stab 28-Year-Old to Death During Drunken Brawl**
A tragic incident unfolded late Thursday night in the Hiranagar police station area of Indore, where three friends fatally stabbed a 28-year-old youth during a drunken altercation.
The victim, identified as Umesh alias Bablu Joshi, a resident of Kabitkhedi, was consuming liquor along with the three accused — Cheena Thakur, his brother Pappi, and their friend Ashish Chauhan. The group was drinking near a drain when a dispute over money erupted, escalating quickly into violence.
According to police reports, in a drunken rage, the three men attacked Umesh with knives, inflicting severe injuries. Despite being stabbed, Umesh attempted to flee but was pursued and fatally stabbed by the trio. He was rushed to MY Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Ashish Chauhan was detained the same night, while Cheena Thakur and his brother Pappi were arrested Friday afternoon.
**Victim Lived with the Accused**
Preliminary investigations revealed that Umesh often stayed with Cheena and Pappi, and the three frequently consumed liquor together. Cheena was reportedly financially supporting Umesh, who was unemployed.
About ten days prior to the incident, Umesh’s ancestral house in Scheme No. 51 was sold. On the night of the murder, Cheena demanded a share of the money from Umesh. When Umesh refused, Cheena, Pappi, and Ashish stabbed him multiple times, leading to his death.
**Criminal Records of the Accused Brothers**
Police records indicate that Cheena Thakur and his brother Pappi have multiple cases registered against them in the Hiranagar, Pardeshipura, and Lasudia police stations.
**Second Murder in Two Days in Indore**
This incident marks the second murder in the city within two days. Earlier on Thursday morning, a 70-year-old retired BSNL employee was found stabbed to death on a roadside in the Chandan Nagar area. Police investigations into that case are ongoing.
