WWE Hall of Famer Booker T recently shared his thoughts on whether Giulia needs to catch up to Stephanie Vaquer within the Stamford-based promotion. Both women are currently champions in WWE and have been making significant strides since joining the company in 2024.
Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer began their WWE careers competing on the company’s developmental brand, NXT. Since being called up to the main roster, Vaquer has quickly risen to main event status and currently holds the Women’s World Championship. Meanwhile, the Japanese star Giulia is not far behind, carrying the prestigious Women’s United States Championship.
Despite her championship status, Giulia has not received the same level of spotlight as Vaquer. She was notably absent from some of WWE’s biggest events, including the recent premium live event, Crown Jewel. This disparity has sparked discussions among fans and analysts about whether Giulia needs to elevate her status to match Vaquer’s success.
During a recent episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T addressed this topic when asked what Giulia needed to do to catch up to Vaquer. The WWE legend expressed that Giulia doesn’t need to “catch up” at all, emphasizing that it’s not a competition between the two women.
“I don’t think Giulia needs to do anything to catch up. It’s not a race from that perspective. I don’t think they’re competing from that perspective. I think both of those ladies have come over here to WWE, and they’ve done great. Just like IYO SKY, they’ve done great being able to work within that universal language, which is the squared circle, going out there and making people go, ‘Oh, I really, really like this person here,’” Booker T explained.
He went further to say that Giulia is carving her own unique path in WWE. Her rise, alongside Stephanie Vaquer’s, will only push former NXT star Roxanne Perez to work harder to achieve similar success on the main roster.
“Someone like Giulia, she has nothing to catch up to Stephanie Vaquer, she’s doing her thing. I heard somebody say, ‘Is this gonna make it harder for Roxanne Perez?’ You’re damn right, it’s just gonna make her work a little bit harder, but that’s part of the game. All the ladies, I think, deserve a round of applause, an encore. Bravo. Bravo, young women. Bravo,” Booker added.
