– Name of the deceased

– A photo (preferably in JPEG or PDF format; TIF and other file types are also accepted). We will contact you if there are any issues with the photo.

*Please note:* There is a discount for running obituaries more than one day, but this must be scheduled at the time of the first run. If a photo is included, it must be used on all scheduled days to qualify for the discount. Contact us for more information.

### Policies
**Verification of Death:**
To publish an obituary, we require the name and phone number of the funeral home or cremation society handling the arrangements. We will contact them during business hours to verify the death.
– If the deceased’s body has been donated to the University of Minnesota Anatomy Bequest Program or a similar program, please provide the program’s phone number for verification.
– A death certificate may be submitted as an alternative to funeral home verification. Only one form of verification is necessary.
– Please allow sufficient time for verification, especially during weekends when hours may be limited.
**Guestbook and Outside Websites:**
We do not allow references to guestbooks or obituaries published on other media sources in the obituary submitted for print and online. You may include a website for the funeral home or a family email address for contact instead. Contact us if you have questions about this policy.

### Obituary Process
After submitting your obituary, we will send you a proof via fax or email for review before publication. This proof will include the price and scheduled run dates. Please review it carefully and notify us of any changes or errors before the obituary is published.
Once published, we are not responsible for errors that occur after final proofing.
If you need changes to an online obituary after publication, please contact the obituary desk.

### Payment Procedure
Pre-payment is required for all obituary notices before publication and by the specified deadline. After you receive and approve the proof, please call 651-228-5263 to provide your payment information.
Payment methods accepted:
– **Credit Card:** Accepted by phone only due to PCI regulations.
– **EFT:** Payment by phone using routing and account numbers.
– **Cash:** Accepted at our front counter Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

### Rates
– Minimum charge: $162 for the first 10 lines.
– Each additional line beyond the first 10 costs $12.20 per line.
– Ads under 10 lines will be charged the minimum rate of $162.
– On a second run date, each line is $8.20, starting with the first line.
*Example:*
– For a first run of 20 lines, the cost is $164.
– Each photo published is $125 per day.
– For example, 2 photos published over 2 days would incur 4 photo charges totaling $500.
