“Sources: LSU is in discussions about Brian Kelly’s future, and that includes outreach to Kelly about his potential departure. The situation is in flux. Kelly is owed $54 million in buyout money,” Thamel posted on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
Adding further context, Pete Nakos of On3/Rivals revealed, “Staff shakeup is expected at LSU,” and noted that members of the coaching staff have been sent home early, according to Nakos and reporter Shea Dixon.

Saturday’s game marked a new low for the Kelly-led LSU team. The Tigers suffered their worst home defeat since 1994. Although LSU led 18-14 at halftime, Texas A&M exploded in the second half with a dominant 35-7 run.
