Dabang Delhi skipper Ashu Malik hailed the team’s defense ahead of the Pro Kabaddi 2025 Final. They were the first team to secure a spot in the title clash this season, having defeated Puneri Paltan in Qualifier 1.
Ashu Malik reckoned that the defense was their real strength. In the first Qualifier, Dabang Delhi’s defenders put up an all-round display. Saurabh Nandal and Sandeep scored three tackle points each, while Fazel Atrachali and Surjeet Singh bagged two tackle points apiece.
Speaking at a Media Day organized by JioStar ahead of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 Final, Dabang Delhi K. C. Captain Ashu Malik interacted with the press. “All the players will do well. The defense and raiding both will do well. We will win only if all the players do well. The aim will be for everyone to do well. I think our defense is the real strength. All of them have performed well,” he said.
Fazel Atrachali has been a standout performer this season, scoring 51 tackle points with four High 5s. Saurabh Nandal isn’t far behind with 50 tackle points and three High 5s. Surjeet Singh has contributed 31 tackle points, while Sandeep has picked up 29.
Ashu Malik also highlighted an important aspect of their defense this season, praising the defenders for their approach and strategy. “The good thing is our defense does not go for a lot of advance tackles. They only go for it when necessary; otherwise, they play safe. The team is very confident with the defense because they are doing well.”
The final is scheduled to be played on Friday, October 31. Delhi will face the winner of the second Qualifier, which will be contested between Puneri Paltan and Telugu Titans.
Can Dabang Delhi win their second title?
Dabang Delhi have won the Pro Kabaddi title once before, in Season 8. Interestingly, Joginder Narwal was the captain of the team back then. He is now their Head Coach and will be aiming for a second title with the franchise. Notably, Ashu Malik was also part of the team in Season 8 and will now be leading them in this year’s final.
Delhi finished second in the league stage this season, earning 26 points from 18 matches. They have been one of the most balanced teams, performing well as a unit throughout the campaign.
Going into the final, the team will be confident and motivated to lift the trophy for the second time in their history. Fans will be eagerly watching to see if Dabang Delhi can add another title to their name.
