**Axiology Builds Regulated, All-in-One Capital Markets Infrastructure on XRP Ledger**
Axiology is developing a regulated blockchain infrastructure on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), aiming to revolutionize capital markets by eliminating financial intermediaries like brokers and custodians. CEO Marius Jurgilas, speaking on RippleX’s Onchain Economy series, shared that the project’s goal is to integrate capital market systems into a single, compliant framework.
He described Axiology’s vision as an institutional-grade system designed to manage issuance, trading, settlement, and investment seamlessly. By leveraging the XRPL, the platform seeks to streamline direct access between issuers and investors, replacing the traditional multi-layered financial structure.
> “Currently, buying a government bond often requires multiple intermediaries such as brokers and custodians,” Jurgilas explained. “Our solution using XRPL aims to remove these layers, simplifying and accelerating the process.”
**Compliance as the Cornerstone**
Jurgilas emphasized that this transformation is only achievable within a strictly regulated framework. Compliance, he stated, is central to scaling the solution globally, ensuring that all activities meet established legal and financial standards.
**Institutional Education: The Real Challenge**
While the technology is ready, Jurgilas identified institutional education as the bigger hurdle. He revealed that many partners and institutions still struggle to grasp the concepts of tokenized finance and the role of blockchain within regulated markets.
According to him, even fundamental functions like transferring value between wallets can seem complex to decision-makers unfamiliar with digital asset systems. To bridge this gap, Axiology focuses on educating institutions by explaining blockchain as a secure database that fosters transparency and control—attributes vital for regulated market operations.
> “The main challenge is not technical feasibility,” Jurgilas said. “It’s about helping institutions align with privacy, cybersecurity, and controlled data-sharing requirements critical for risk management and compliance.”
**Unlocking a $5 Trillion EU SME Funding Opportunity**
A key motivation behind Axiology’s initiative is addressing a significant market imbalance in the European Union. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) face a funding gap estimated at $5 trillion. Meanwhile, some $15 trillion in bank deposits remain idle.
Jurgilas argues that a compliant, direct capital-flow infrastructure could help reduce this gap by efficiently channeling idle funds towards SMEs in need.
> “Our focus is on scalable, regulated solutions that respond to existing market needs—not experimental technology,” he noted. “Institutional-grade blockchain must prioritize investor protection, risk control, and strict adherence to financial standards.”
