The Maine Mariners handed the Reading Royals their first regulation loss of the season with a convincing 5-1 victory on Sunday at Cross Insurance Arena.
Five different players contributed to the win for Maine, with Jacob Perreault leading the way by notching a goal and two assists. This performance helped the Mariners extend their point streak to five games, improving their record to 4-1-1-1.
Alex DiPaolo, Zach Massicotte, Robert Cronin, and Ty Gallagher each scored for the Mariners. Notably, DiPaolo recorded his first professional goal during the game.
For Reading, Cam Cook scored a shorthanded goal, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Maine’s strong offense. The Royals’ record now stands at 5-1-1-0.
The Mariners maintained offensive pressure throughout the game, registering 40 shots for the second consecutive game. Goalie Luke Cavallin also played a key role, making 25 saves and earning his fourth win of the season.
With this strong team effort, the Maine Mariners continue to build momentum early in the season.
