NFL Unveils Super Bowl LX Events Spanning San Francisco, San José and East Bay

Posted on 2025 年 11 月 4 日 by admin

The NFL and the Bay Area Host Committee (BAHC) announced the official lineup of events for Super Bowl LX on Monday, unveiling a week-long celebration centered in both San Francisco and San José, with partnerships extending into the East Bay. The festivities will kick off on February 2 and feature several exciting new activations.

For the first time, the 2026 Pro Bowl Games will be held during Super Bowl week, taking place at San Francisco’s Moscone Center. Additionally, a brand-new Super Bowl LX Innovation Summit focused on technology will be hosted at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) throughout the week.

“As we return to the Bay Area for Super Bowl LX, a decade after Super Bowl 50, we’re fully embracing the region’s unique energy and building something that feels true to the Bay,” said Peter O’Reilly, the NFL’s executive vice president of club business, major events, and international.

BAHC President and CEO Zaileen Janmohamed highlighted the region’s diverse character as a key element of the celebration. “The Bay Area is made up of nine counties. All counties have their own vibe, culture, and way that they behave every single day,” Janmohamed remarked during a virtual press conference. “Our job is to showcase that to the world and then to bring the Super Bowl in to unite the region through that event.”

### Pro Bowl Games: A Major Community Engagement

O’Reilly described the Pro Bowl Games at Moscone as a “significant deal” and a major opportunity for community engagement. The event will bring together 88 of the NFL’s top players for a multi-day skills competition and a 7-on-7 flag football game, replacing the traditional tackle format.

“At the heart of that Pro Bowl Games decision is all the momentum that exists around flag football,” O’Reilly explained. He emphasized the value of having this level of star power in the Bay Area, engaging actively with fans and community events alike.

### Fan-Friendly Activities and Concerts

The Super Bowl Experience at the Moscone Center, running from February 3 to 7, will serve as an “NFL theme park” and is free for children 12 and under. Music will also play a major role in the week’s celebrations, featuring the BAHC Live! Concert Series at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium and On Location’s Studio 60 Concert Series at the Palace of Fine Arts.

While San Francisco will host the main fan festival, the festivities officially begin in the South Bay. Super Bowl Opening Night is scheduled at the San José Convention Center on February 2. Janmohamed called this a deliberate “decision of inclusivity across the region,” also noting logistical benefits.

John Poch, executive director of the San José Sports Authority, confirmed that both participating teams will be practicing in the South Bay. “By having it here in San José, it makes it very accessible for both teams,” Poch said, adding that it’s only a “five-minute walk” for one team. He added that the goal is to “create a Super Bowl experience for those that can’t go to the game.”

### Innovation at the Forefront

Beyond fan experiences, the committee is embracing the Bay Area’s reputation as the “innovation capital of the world.” The Innovation Summit at SFMOMA was a foundational idea behind the bid, Janmohamed explained. “You can’t come into the Bay Area and not talk about technology innovation,” she said.

### Extending Into the East Bay

Although primary events focus on San Francisco and San José, the BAHC has partnered with Visit Oakland and an East Bay Coalition representing Berkeley, Pleasant Hill, the Tri-Valley, and Walnut Creek. Organizers confirmed that specific East Bay events are still being finalized and will be announced soon.

Peter Gamez, president and CEO of Visit Oakland, anticipates a 20% increase in hotel occupancy during the Super Bowl week. “Our city knows that when one section of the Bay Area hosts these major sporting events, we all rise because of it,” Gamez stated.

### Community Legacy Projects

The host committee is also highlighting its community legacy initiatives, including the Bridge to Work workforce equity program and the Sports for All initiative. The latter is currently refurbishing a field in East Palo Alto, an area that Janmohamed described as “very much outdated” and in “desperate need of support.”

### Additional Details and Accessibility

The full event schedule, including the NFL Culture Club and Taste of the NFL, will be available on the NFL OnePass app.

San José Mayor Matt Mahan shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming festivities, stating, “When you touch down at San Jose Mineta International Airport, you’ll be just ten minutes from Levi’s Stadium and the NFL’s Opening Night. We’re also organizing world-class concerts, drone shows, and culinary experiences within walking distance from Downtown, so residents and visitors alike have an unforgettable Super Bowl experience right here in San Jose.”

Stay tuned for more updates as the Bay Area prepares to host one of the most dynamic and inclusive Super Bowl celebrations to date.
