Canada’s Crave appears not to have remained faithful to the Celebrity Traitors UK. Viewers of the Canadian streamer have taken to social media over the past few hours to note that the show aired in full last night on Crave—around 24 hours prior to its highly-anticipated launch on the BBC in the UK tonight. Similarly, audiences in New Zealand reported they had seen the show early as well.
Deadline will absolutely not be giving away any spoilers, but the BBC has acknowledged the early airing and confirmed that the show was taken down from Crave after a couple of hours. We have reached out to Crave for comment.
“We kindly ask anyone who thinks they know the outcome of The Celebrity Traitors to keep whatever they believe they know to themselves,” said a BBC spokeswoman. “Please avoid sharing potential spoilers so that the millions of fans who have been faithfully following every twist and turn of the series can enjoy the final this evening.”
The first season of Celebrity Traitors UK has been attracting millions of viewers per episode and dominating watercooler TV chatter across the UK. The show has generated countless memes and talking points, capturing the attention of a wide audience.
Tonight’s finale features the last five contestants: Ted Lasso star Nick Mohammed, rugby player Joe Marler, history presenter David Olusoga, comedian Alan Carr, and singer-songwriter Cat Burns. The latter two are the traitors, while the first three are faithfully attempting to sniff them out in what promises to be one of the BBC’s most-watched shows of the year.
The show airs tonight at 9 p.m. GMT (1 p.m. PT), giving fans just a few hours left to avoid spoilers. The winner will receive £100,000 ($130,000) to donate to their chosen charity.
