Bray Wyatt was widely regarded as one of WWE’s most creative minds during his tenure with the company. Best known for his spooky and eerie gimmicks, Wyatt was viewed by many as the natural successor to The Undertaker, carrying forward the supernatural elements that have long been a staple in WWE.
Wyatt amassed a huge fan following, extending beyond just professional wrestling enthusiasts. Interestingly, notorious cult leader and convicted criminal Charles Manson also took a liking to Bray Wyatt’s work after discovering it while incarcerated. Inspired by Wyatt’s WWE persona, Manson expressed a desire to meet the wrestler. However, the promotion quickly dismissed the idea.
Former WWE writer Vince Russo recently discussed this unusual connection on the latest episode of *Writing with Russo* on Sportskeeda Wrestling. Reflecting on what an interaction between Wyatt and Manson might have looked like, Russo shared his thoughts:
>”Manson did plenty of interviews on TV, man. I don’t think Geraldo interviewed him, but he did many, many, many televised interviews. Can you imagine that discussion? Oh my God, I would have wanted to see that discussion. You think Bray Wyatt, if he was alive, would have said no to that? What are you crazy?”
Charles Manson was convicted of first-degree murder and conspiracy in multiple cases, including the brutal killing of film actress Sharon Tate. He died in prison in 2017 due to complications from colon cancer.
Bray Wyatt enjoyed a very successful career in WWE, capturing the World Title multiple times. In 2022, he made one of the most remarkable returns to the promotion, debuting a compelling new character. Unfortunately, his untimely death in August 2023 prevented him from fully realizing and showcasing his creative vision to fans.
