Warhorse Studios’ *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* has turned a lot of heads this year as an immersive medieval RPG featuring compelling systems and an engaging story. Meanwhile, CD Projekt RED is working on its own medieval RPG and recently made a significant hire from the *Kingdom Come* development team.
Former Warhorse Lead Game Designer Karel Kolmann has joined CD Projekt RED to aid in the development of *The Witcher 4*. He will be taking on the role of Senior Quest Designer, marking a big pickup for CD Projekt RED.
Kolmann announced his move on social media this week. His tweet was short and sweet: “I’m happy to share that I’ve joined CD Projekt RED.” More details can be found on his LinkedIn profile, which confirms his position as Senior Quest Designer at CDPR.
During his eight-year tenure at Warhorse Studios, Kolmann contributed significantly to the *Kingdom Come* series. His roles included writer, quest designer, game designer, and eventually Lead Game Designer. He was one of the lead architects behind *Kingdom Come 2*’s Hardcore Mode and its intricate law system.
Given his extensive involvement, it’s safe to say Kolmann played a key role in many aspects praised in Guides Editor Sam Chandler’s review of *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*.
This move highlights CD Projekt RED’s commitment to bolstering their development team with talented industry veterans as they work on their next big medieval RPG.
