With the Nintendo Switch 2 having been out for a few months, there aren’t many voices we’d like to hear more from than former (and legendary) Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé.
Fils-Aimé recently shared his thoughts on the Switch 2’s launch and how it has performed so far, applauding many of the decisions Nintendo has made. However, there was one point that left him puzzled: he doesn’t understand why Xbox hasn’t been more aggressive in porting its games to the platform.
Reggie Fils-Aimé discussed these insights and more during a recent episode of *The Game Business Show* with Christopher Dring. When asked about the Switch 2’s launch, Fils-Aimé offered several observations, but one stood out—his take on what he sees as a somewhat lukewarm approach to software support on the new console.
Dring pointed out that titles like *Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4* have already made their way to Switch 2, and *Indiana Jones and the Great Circle* is expected to arrive soon. Yet, he also acknowledged that Xbox’s presence on the Switch 2 remains surprisingly light. This is especially notable given that making games for the Switch was a key condition set by trade authorities for allowing Xbox to acquire Activision Blizzard.
The situation raises questions about Xbox’s strategy regarding the Switch 2, and whether we can expect more robust software support from Microsoft’s gaming division in the near future.
