NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Xzayvier Brown scored a game-high 19 points, while Nijel Pack and Dayton Forsythe each contributed 15, leading Oklahoma to a 95-69 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Tuesday night.
Brown was efficient throughout the game, shooting 7-of-13 from the field and a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line. He also added 4 steals, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists for the Sooners, who improved to 2-1 on the season. Tae Davis recorded a dominant performance with 13 points and 15 rebounds, including 11 offensive boards, marking the fifth double-double of his career. His most recent double-double came against Dartmouth on December 11, 2024, when he posted 20 points and 10 rebounds. Derrion Reid chipped in with 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff (0-4) stayed competitive in the early stages of the game, keeping it close through the first 12 minutes. However, a decisive 21-9 run by Oklahoma to end the first half gave the Sooners a 42-31 lead heading into the locker room. After the 11:22 mark of the first half, Oklahoma never relinquished the lead.
Milhan Charles led the Golden Lions with 15 points on 4-of-5 shooting, while Alex Mirhosseini and Jaquan Scott each added 14 points. Despite their efforts, the Lions struggled offensively, finishing the game shooting just 40% from the field and 28% from beyond the arc.
