The Denver Broncos are currently 8-2 and sit atop the AFC West heading into their Week 11 showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs. However, they will face Patrick Mahomes and company without one of their top weapons.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz has revealed that Broncos running back J.K. Dobbins is expected to miss multiple weeks due to a foot injury sustained during Denver’s win over the Las Vegas Raiders last Thursday. Schultz also noted that placing Dobbins on injured reserve is a possibility.
Dobbins signed with the Broncos during the offseason and has been having a tremendous year in the Mile High City. Through 10 games, he has racked up 772 yards and four touchdowns, while averaging five yards per carry. He was on pace to post the most productive campaign of his NFL career.
Talent has never been an issue for Dobbins; however, his health has always been a major concern. The 26-year-old was originally selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft and had a terrific rookie season, registering 805 yards and nine touchdowns on a hefty six yards per attempt.
Unfortunately, Dobbins missed the entire 2021 season due to a torn ACL and suffered a torn Achilles just one game into the 2023 campaign. Since his rookie year, he has played in a total of 32 games over five seasons.
In 2024, Dobbins spent the season with the Los Angeles Chargers, appearing in 13 games. A knee injury prevented him from reaching his first 1,000-yard season, but he still finished with 905 yards and nine touchdowns.
Dobbins has been a critical part of a Broncos offense that has struggled with its passing attack in 2025. Losing the Ohio State product will undoubtedly be a significant blow down the stretch.
To fill in for Dobbins, Denver will turn to rookie halfback RJ Harvey. Harvey has totaled 214 yards and two touchdowns on 4.3 yards per carry so far this season.
The Broncos are aiming to make their second straight playoff appearance, but the loss of Dobbins will test their depth and resilience as they push toward the postseason.
